Mother Jones recentlyposted a fascinating but disturbing map of US states showing the number of deaths by cars vs deaths by guns. In light ofthe Newtown anniversary I wanted to share it with blog readers. As the piece notes, number of states havealready hit this grisly milestone. You will need to go https://www.ngrl.co.uk to the website of the original piece to see the map but here is the salient comment Mother Jones makes: little surprise that many of these states including Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Utah, and Virginia are notorious for lax gun laws. What more, the numbers aren driven just by guys with guns. Nationally, close to two thirds of gun deaths are suicides, and the split is much higher in states such as Alaska, which reported more than twice https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vans as many gun suicides as traffic deaths in 2010. Utah,Nevada, Oregon, and Washington are also seeing more gun suicides than traffic fatalities. https://www.ngrl.co.uk Idaho, Montana, and others are close behind. Sorry to spring this on blog readers at this time of year but I feel we owe it to Sandy Hill families to do so.

Understand which foods the Paleo diet eliminates. Proponents of the Paleo diet suggest that there is a direct link between the rising prevalence of many chronic diseases, such as obesity, diabetes and heart disease, and the increasing consumption of processed foods, sugar, dairy and grain products. To achieve better health, proponents advise returning to a diet similar to that of Stone Age man, when humans had no access to trans fats, breads, cereals, sugar, pasta, dairy products and fatty meats. As to you accusing me of tripe not half as much as your gangster idea of kicking in doors and handing out 50 fines. I am not shocked at the attitude though, that is half the problem too many other engineers which BT employ that think they know best without testing things properly.
